Assigning people to steps in a process (tasks)
There are two ways to assign someone to a step in a process (a.k.a. a task):
- You can pre-set the assignment in the process template, so that every time this instances of this process are applied to projects, the people you assign to those steps will be automatically assigned.
- You can set assignments on a process step after it has already been applied on a project (think of this as a one-off task assignment).
Pre-assigning people to steps in a process template
When you're editing a process template, you can set people assignments on steps so that every time instances of this process are applied to projects, those people will be automatically assigned to those steps in the process.
- Go to your "Processes" using the navigation at the top-left corner.
- Find the process template you want to edit.
- Go to a step in this process template.
- Click the "..." then click "Assign People..."
- Select the person(s) you want to pre-assign to this step in the process template. Those who are selected will get checkmarks and you will see their avatar image shown on the process step.
Assign people to steps in a process on a project
Once an instance of process has already been applied to a project (or a one-off process created on a project), you can assign people to steps here as well.
- Go to your "Projects" using the navigation at the top-left corner.
- Find the project you're want to work with.
- Find the process on this project, then find the step in that process that you want to assign to someone.
- Click the "..." then click "Assign People..."
- Select the person(s) you want to assign to this step in the process. Those who are selected will get checkmarks and you will see their avatar image shown on the process step.
